The Garden Path

Our perennial garden fades into a woods bordered by
limestone ledges. We have created a path up to the ledges that winds through
some islands of rock. The view above is in early spring before the trees
have fully leafed out and the garden is still greening up. As you can see
the tulips have started to bloom. At the left is a photo of a wild
columbine growing on top of an island of rock at the top of the path. In the
springs dozen of these flowers cover the top of the rock as shown below.
