Lake Maggiore (above) is known for its Borromean Islands, three perfect gems that feature an amazing garden palace on Isola Bella, a fishing village on Isola dei Pescatori and a botanical garden on Isola Madre.

Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy. Shown above is the village of  Limone sul Garda. The lake is surrounded by beautiful, often ancient cities. The Italian Alps loom to the north as a backdrop. Only a short distance south of the Lake Garda are Verona, Mantua and the interesting Sigurta Garden. We stayed at resort villa at Riviera Gardone with a view of the lake from our balcony.
